This was a great win but a more amazing day, as my wife and I celebrated 17 years of wedding bliss. Watching the Packers beat the undefeated Texans was just the icing on the cake. Thanks to everyone that wished us a Happy Anniversary on Twitter, it was most appreciated! Oh and to see the Vikes lose was also pretty cool to enjoy yesterday! Yeah!! The Packers are back in the division hunt again!
This game was almost perfect, the defense looked great and the OL looked sharp and there was plenty to cheer about. I am not going to get into anything negative today, as I want to cherish this victory and start thinking about winning TWO games in a ROW!
So the reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers, set a career high and tied a franchise record with six touchdown passes and the Packers played their best game of their so far, inconsistent season, in a 42-24 rout of the previously unbeaten Texans. Rodgers completed 24 of 37 passes for 338 yards. He tied Matt Flynn's game record for TD passes, set in last year's regular-season finale against Detroit.
Jordy Nelson caught three touchdown passes and James Jones had two, including a beautiful, diving one-hander in the fourth quarter for the Packers (3-3). Tight end Tom Crabtree had the other, a 48 yarder. Randall Cobb, who had seven catches for 102 yards.
The Texans really helped the Packers with untimely penalties and the loss leaves the Atlanta Falcons (6-0) as the only unbeaten team in the NFL.
Until next week when we are 4-3 against the Rams…..GO! PACK GO!
