I really hope this game is not the indication of how the rest of the Packers season is going to go. I think is it so frustrating, because we have a talented team, now we just need to step up and play like it and stop worrying about bad calls, or injuries, or if Finley will catch the ball this week!
"We're not the same team as last year, obviously," right guard Josh Sitton lamented after Green Bay had one of the most epic collapses in the club's illustrious 94-year history. The last time Green Bay had such a colossal letdown the final two quarters of a game happened Nov. 17, 1957, when the Los Angeles Rams climbed out of a 24-3 halftime hole to win 31-27 at Milwaukee.
"My football team is not playing the way we're capable of playing," he said. "I feel like we underachieved, to be frank, and it starts with me. That's my responsibility. Aaron Rodgers also threw an interception in the third quarter that helped fuel the Colts' big comeback. I know there were again some sketchy calls by the refs, but by blowing a 21-3 lead, this is getting very concerning. As the rest of the North Division is pulling away, as the Vikes are at a healthy 4-1 as well, as the Bears are 4-1. That makes me more depressed, than if we were 0-4. Hate that Viking fans are talking crap, it needs to stop.
There is no statistic for emotion. No index for inspiration. No chart for heart. And Sunday, there was no stopping the Indianapolis Colts as columnist Sam Farmer wrote. The Colts, with cancer stricken Coach Chuck Pagano watching from a local hospital, overcame an 18-point deficit at home to pull off an unforgettable 30-27 upset of Green Bay. "We're just so happy for Chuck," said rookie quarterback Andrew Luck who completed 31 of 55 passes for 362 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. "Hopefully, this uplifts him in some sense or some fashion. I'm happy to be a part of this moment with this franchise. No one could stop Reggie Wayne, Wayne caught 13 passes for a career-high 212 yards, which included the go-ahead touchdown with 35 seconds remaining
"It's not really rocket science - we've got to win the next one," veteran defensive back Charles Woodson said. "We've put ourselves in a hole."Green Bay had a chance to at least tie the game in the final seconds but Mason Crosby was wide on a 51-yard field-goal try. I hate that it had to come down to this, but in critical games, Mason needs to hit this field goal, it was indoors for goodness sakes.
The Good: Alex Green running like he's done that before. Jordy still catching everything that is thrown his way.
The Bad: Running back Cedric Benson had gained 20 yards on seven carries before leaving the game in the second quarter with an apparent left foot injury. Tight end Jermichael Finley departed in the third stanza with a shoulder injury and nose tackle B.J. Raji hurt his left ankle.
Until next Sunday night, he is hoping the Packers can put a solid game plan together and beat the Houston Texans to pull back to .500. I would be happy again. If we lose, and there is a good chance this will happen, I hope that the Bears, and Vikes lose as well!!
GO! PACK GO!
