Rams came out trying to extend their undefeated record at Edward Jones Dome but the crowd of 64,359 at Edward Jones Dome was at its loudest when they were chanting GO! PACK GO! It was the first time this season the Pack have back to back games and it felt good to get that out of the way. The Packers are now 4-3 on the season and still behind the Bears and Vikes. Next up is the Jacksonville Jaquars who might be without RB Maurice Jones-Drew and their starting QB Blaine Gabbert. So here are my good and bad observations of the game:
The Greatness: Rodgers was phenomenal in this game. He completed 20 of his first 22 passes for 232 yards and two scores. His third scoring pass was memorable. Rodgers rolled left and threw across his body to Randall Cobb for a 39-yard score. The reigning NFL Most Valuable Player finished 30-of-37 for 342 yards. And now has 19 TDs for the season which leads the NFL. Clay Matthews came up with his ninth sack of the season. Packers rookie Casey Hayward coming up with his 4 INT in seven games. It took Charles Woodson 15 games and Tramon Williams 24 games before they made their fourth career interception, AWESOME CASEY!! John Kuhn carried the ball three times for 16 yards. Green Bay with an onside kick following a first-quarter touchdown, was another gutsy call, but worked to perfection.
The Not-So-Good: End Mike Neal injured his right knee in the first half and did not return until the second half. Rookie linebacker Dezman Moses was adamant that he didn't do anything that should have warranted an unnecessary roughness penalty for a hit on running back Steven Jackson, it looked like a great hit from the couch. Mason Crosby attempted a 58-yard field that would have tied his career long. Like the 52- and 51-yarders that he missed against Indianapolis, it had no chance. And like the 51-yarder that would have sent the Colts game into overtime, it sailed like a line drive and ended up nowhere close to the uprights.
So starting next weekend the Packers have two straight home games and the bye week, which mean the Packers won't have a road game for a month. Time to get the HOME field advantage going now. Until Next Weekend...GO! PACK GO!
