Packers Even Record At 2-2, Beat Winless Saints 28-27.
Another crazy game for my beloved Packers! These games such not get to this point, but I am glad that we pulled one out after the stupid refs, AGAIN!
Aaron Rodgers threw a go ahead touchdown to Jordy Nelson in the fourth quarter, and Green Bay shook off a week's worth of controversy with a rally that kept New Orleans winless. With Packers fans howling about what appeared to be yet another bad call - this time by the regular officials, not the replacements! The Lambeau Field crowd greeted referee Jeff Triplette and his crew with a warm ovation Sunday. Triplette responded by doffing his cap. A few hours later, the relationship was a lot frostier. Packers fans were upset early on when Marques Colston appeared to get away with offensive interference on a TD grab. They were downright livid when Darren Sproles was ruled down by contact despite clearly fumbling a kickoff return. Packers fans hated the replacement officials, thanks to last Monday’s controversial end in Seattle. After Sunday, they won’t be too fond of the regular guys, either.
In between, both sides had issues with Triplette’s crew. Triplette has his fair share of critics around the league. He likely added a few more in Packers country Sunday.
Garrett Hartley missed a 48-yard field goal attempt with just under three minutes remaining, costing the Saints a shot at the lead. Rodgers threw for 319 yards with four touchdowns and an interception for the Packers (2-2). Drew Brees threw for 446 yards with three touch-downs for the winless Saints (0-4). Brees has thrown at least one touchdown in 47 straight regular-season games, tying the NFL's all-time mark set by Johnny Unitas.
Some great plays were the fake punt and Kuhn running for the first down, that is really a gutsy call by coach McCarthy. James Jones was a stud after Jennings was on the sideline with his groin injury. That last pass he caught for a first down to seal the victory was amazing! I mean behind the back of the opponent, that was unreal! Benson had a few nice runs and showed power. Aaron putting the team on his back and the offensive line for keep him safe and off the grass at Lambeau Field.
So we are back to winning, and I'll take 2-2 over 1-3 in the North right now. So now it's on to Indianapolis next week to take on the Colts. We need to keep up on our winning ways and just take care of business and not have to worry about the refs trying to screw us anymore this season!
As Always…GO! PACK GO!
